Visit from Volunteer Coordinator

Our Canadian Volunteer Coordinator, Ms. Erin Anderson, will be in-country for one month to meet with the Executive Director and review the work from the last three months.

Attendance at Health Coalition Meeting in Kumasi

The executive director, Ms. Helen Honesty Attah, will be attending a Health Coalition meeting in Kumasi to learn more about potential partnerships with similar NGOs in the country.

 

Arrival of New Volunteer Lina Tordsson of Norway

Lina will be working with FLOWER to create a Girl's Club curriculum to be shared with Girl's Clubs in the Eastern Region. Girls Week at Afranse Local Authority Primary School

7th July – 11th July 2008

 

A fun-filled week celebrating the Girls Clubs at Afranse Local Authority Primary School. Activities include art making, viewing of an educational film, pancake making and an educational talk on the menstrual cycle. All female students are welcome to all events. Special guests will be attending from Canada, Denmark and The United States!

 

School Supply Donation

3rd June 2008

2 PM

 

A school wide donation of exercise books and pens to all needy students at Afranse Local Authority Primary School. Includes an educational discussion with parents and students on the importance of girl-child education and the benefits it can have for each community. There will also be a lesson on small-scale savings plans. Special guests from Canada, Denmark and The United States will be in attendance!
