A number of positions working as a primary school teacher in Asamankese and surrounds are available for innovative, creative volunteers. The position of volunteer teacher is a challenging one but also highly rewarding. Volunteers can expect to teach from the Ghana Education Service (GES) Primary School Curriculum and assist other teachers with lessons. There is also plenty of room for creative lesson plans and topics to be added to the regular schedule. Placements are available in both rural and urban schools.

The following skills are desired:

Ø  Some post-secondary education is required

Ø  Exceptional English communication skills

Ø  Patience and flexibility

Ø  Experience working with children between the ages of 5 – 12 years

Ø  Ability to work as part of a diverse team

Ø  Be understanding, open-minded and respectful of different cultural practices

Ø  Creativity is a valuable asset
